Technical visits

As a conference guest, you can start the day with selected technical visits, to give an insight in the supply chain of the offshore wind industry. Esbjerg is one of the ports in the North Seas, which is being used for assembly, installation and maintenance of offshore wind parks.


9.30 Busses will drive the conference guests to technical visits at the port of Esbjerg.

MHI Vestas Offshore Wind


We will visit the MHI Vestas Offshore Wind assembly factory where the Power Converter Modules are being integrated with the tower section before preparing for installation from the quay side.

Siemens Gamesa Neptune Site 


From the Neptune site at the port of Esbjerg, Siemens Gamesa has installed numerous GW of offshore wind, and the site has played a crucial part in the big development of offshore wind technology and logistic as we see it today. You will get an insight in the complex environment of handling large offshore wind projects.

Vattenfall Surveillance Center 


Vattenfall is located with a surveillance center in Esbjerg, from which they monitor their offshore wind parks. Besides surveillance, the office plans maintenance for their Danish and German offshore wind parks. Hear the exiting story of the issues regarding cross-border management maintenance.

Philippe Kavafyan is the CEO at MHI Vestas Offshore Wind, joining the company in 2018. Prior to joining MHI Vestas, he was the Chairman of the Board of Adwen Offshore. Throughout his career, he has held a variety of key positions at Électricité de France, General Electric and AREVA. His experience in the energy sector spans power generation, gas, nuclear and wind. A graduate of the Ecole Polytechnique and Ecole des Mines de Paris, he now lives in Denmark with his wife and two children.
